Description

For your consideration, from the Fall 2003 JABO, Inc. 3/4" Classics run, a set of sixteen iridescent marbles in pristine to very near pristine condition, including three 'Blue Parrots'. Not all the color schemes in the run were treated for the iridescent appearance and those that were, were produced in relatively small quantities. I've been collecting these since they were made over twenty years ago and have finally sorted through them all to come up with some to finally part with. As for the iridescent, until the last few years, I wouldn't have dreamed of letting go the very few I was able to find. These are cream of the crop, as made condition from the factory. Very hard to find this nice, even from the cooling bins back in 2003. As mentioned, some are in "near pristine condition". Those less than 'Mint' have the slightest and smallest of as-made imperfections such as tiny touch marks, or micro sparkles. No moons chips, or cold roll imperfections. None have very noticeable imperfections, and none are peppered with imperfections either. These are actually nicer than the non-iridescent counterparts from the run. I am confident you will be pleased with these marbles, the best I can muster for you. I have very few of these to offer. They are around the 3/4" size range, made on the old Vitro Agate machine, the same 3/4" machine that produced the contract runs from 2008 until JABO's demise. I created the black fuzzy polystyrene flocked (fuzzy) inserts seen in the last pictures. The vinyl sticker is waterproof and UV resistant for no fade over time. This is a very nice and highly collectible set, as now nearly vintage and scarcity of high-quality, rendering it hard to duplicate. Price may seem steep but do the math and consider a few are valued at $10 ea. I'm actually reluctant to let them go at this price knowing how long and hard it took me to assemble them. R.I.P. Dave McCullough, who's passing last week, Oct. 13th, 2024, ends another chapter in marble history, whom Dave was key in many. From Champion Agate, to JABO, Inc., to Sammy's Mountain Marbles, to Dave's Appalachian Swirls, Dave played a hands-on role in the making of Millions of marbles for decades, as well as inspiring and helping others in the contemporary marble fields. Many other lives were greatly affected and influenced by his creations, as well. Shipping discounts always apply.
