MSRP $1,795 Each piece is constructed of extra heavy 304 surgical stainless steel and guaranteed to last a lifetime . The 7-ply construction spreads the heat quickly and evenly. The steam control valve makes "waterless" cooking easy and more healthy because it eliminates the need for grease or oil in cooking . To use the steam control valve, start cooking on medium heat (never use high heat). Then, when the valve begins to whistle, close the valve and turn the heat down to low and finish cooking. The 7-ply construction allows you to stack cook with this cookware. Begin cooking on individual burners and when the valve whistles, you can stack the pans to finish cooking. (this is just a sample of stack cooking not the actual pots) The phenolic handles are superbly styled and are resistant to heat, cold and detergents. The set consists of: 1.7qt covered saucepan 2.5qt covered saucepan 3.2qt covered saucepan 7.5qt covered roaster 11 3/8" skillet Double boiler unit with capsule bottom so you can use as a 3qt saucepan 5 egg cups 5 hole utility rack high dome cover with capsule bottom so you can use as a frying pan (cover fits skillet or roaster). Storage couldn't be easier! The lids invert perfectly in the pan for easy storage. ...OR CHOSE TO HANG THE PANS! WHY BUY WATERLESS COOKWARE??? Cooking is easy and seems to take less time than conventional cooking . Since the heat is evenly distributed, there is no burning or sticking, making the pots easier to clean. Since the food cooks in its natural juices, it tastes terrific and has more vitamins left in it. Principles of Waterless Cookware are relatively simple and straightforward. Waterless cookware must be made of a high grade stainless steel to protect the food, and lids must form a vapor seal. Many people use Aluminum cookware because it heats faster. But there have been studies indicating that some Aluminum gets into the food, and it may not be good for your health. A solution is to use stainless steel cookware. Waterless cookware is made of high grade stainless steel, which does not allow tastes from the metal to leach into the food. Stainless steel is also easier to clean and does not require such coatings as Teflon, which also may get into the food. Flat bottom used for efficient heat transfer The bottom of the cookware is machined flat, so that as much surface as possible is in contact with the coils of an electric stove. The surface is also machined for better efficiency when using a gas stove. Bottom plate used to evenly distribute heat An aluminum or copper plate distributes the heat evenly along the bottom of the pot or pan. This eliminates hot spots that can burn the food. It also provides heat to the bottom in all directions. Special lid known as vapor seal lids are used to keep water from escaping. Theses lid forms a seal with the pot, locking in the natural moisture that escapes from the food during the heating process. Foods can cook in their own natural juices, so that vitamins and minerals are retained. Since vegetables contain a large quantity of water, there is no need to add any when cooking. Water that is released from the vegetables upon cooking turns into steam and is contained in the pot by the lid. The steam helps the cooking process. Steam valve used to announce when to turn off heat Once the natural juices create sufficient steam, a whistle or steam valve notifies the cook. At that time the cook can turn off the heat. This saves energy , and the food cooks at a constant temperature, because of the pot's heat retention capabilities and the heat of the steam inside the pot. Comes with a limited lifetime warranty- This cookware and accessories are guaranteed to the original purchaser for his/her lifetime to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. REVIEWS 1)..."Like other reviewers, I went to the state fair and watched the demo of the West Bend cookware, wanted to buy it, but refused to pay $3200.00 for it. I did some research and found this set. I pulled information from the West Bend site and compared features, layers, and claims between it and the World's Finest set. I also found several reviews from satisfied buyers of the World's Finest set. The burning question still remained: Could this set be as good as the $3200 West Bend set, and really cost less than 1/10 of the price? Well, I have never owned the West Bend set (and at $3200, never will...), but I can honestly say that the World's Finest set was VERY comparable in many ways--the 1/2" thick bottoms, tri-rolled rims, weighted lids, steam valve, heavy duty handles, dishwasher safe, oven safe (up to 350 degrees), multi-ply construction (which if you compare, are the exact same metals). In my opinion, the West Bend handles and knobs probably are a little better (they would have to be because they will warranty them for life). However, you could buy 10 sets of this cookware for the price of the West Bend cookware, and could probably replace hundreds of knobs and handles for the price difference. Other than that, I could tell very little difference if any at all in the quality of the metal pots and pans. In fact, the construction of them looked identical to me. Am I satisfied? VERY. Am I impressed? YOU BET. Would I recommend this set? WITHOUT A DOUBT. In fact, I am planning to purchase a set for my mother for her 40th wedding anniversary next month. So, when you go to the state fair, watch the demo, and the demonstrator asks you "How much does GOOD Cookware cost? How much is your health worth? How much is the health of your family worth?" ... 2)..."I have to say right off that I was happy with the look and feel of the set as soon as I unpacked it. I picked the 7ply set because it has a layer of carbon steel that's in between the stainless steel layers, and it was my belief that this would make it a better quality set. I could be wrong, I realize, but I wanted this set very, very bad. Go figure. Of course I couldn't wait to use it once I had it in my home, so after giving the entire set a good soapy wash job I set out to prepare a meal. Believe it or not, I was happy with the outcome of my very first meal...." 3)"...We've all sat through the demonstrations at the State Fair watching the salesman go through his pitch selling waterless cookware. Everything he says is true. There are a thousand reasons why you would want to use it. Then he comes to the price. . . Without blinking an eye, they try to convince you that their set of pans is worth roughly the same as a 3-year old Buick. I've seen them charging in excess of $3,000 for a complete set. Unfortunately the only people who buy it are those who can least afford it. Well, here's the alternative. This set is every bit as good, if not better than the set at the fair, ..."
